Brazile: America might decide to turn to a 'recovering politician' in 2008

Fri Dec 14, 2007 at 10:17:09 AM PDT

Newsweek

I asked Donna Brazile, his campaign manager from 2000, whether there's any way Gore could still become president. "America might decide to turn to a 'recovering politician' in 2008, and Al Gore is ready to lead day one. I'm still a dreamer," she said by e-mail today. Gore, interviewed by CNN in Oslo, said cautiously that "I haven't ruled out the idea of getting back into the political process at some point in the future. I don't expect to. But if I did get back, it would be as a candidate for president, not in any other position."

Letter about Bali from Al Gore

Wed Dec 05, 2007 at 03:21:01 PM PDT

Just got this Email from Al Gore:

Dear Abraham,

In Bali, Indonesia thousands of delegates from nearly 190 countries have gathered at the UN Conference on Climate Change. In nine days, I will address the conference to urge the adoption of a visionary new treaty to address global warming and I want to bring your voices with me.

Click here to sign my petition today and I will bring your signatures on stage with me as a clear demonstration of our resolve:

http://climateprotect.org/...

Together, we will call on the US government to assume a new leadership role in solving the climate crisis.

World leaders including British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and newly elected Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd have all agreed to aggressively battle the climate crisis – yet our country still lags behind.

Word from Al Gore's Office: Stop Ballot initiatives

Mon Nov 12, 2007 at 09:25:38 PM PDT

It is painful for me to write these words, I just got this letter from Karen Wunderman Chief of Staff at AlGore.org

Dear AFG Steering Committee Members:

We have received a communication from a member of Al Gore’s staff discouraging our efforts to put Al Gore’s name on any primary ballots. This includes California, New York, Massachusetts, and the write-in effort in New Hampshire, as well as any other states that are working to get him on the ballot.  Accordingly, effective immediately, we are recommending that all groups cease their signature collection and related fund-raising activities.

Al Gore Not Out Yet!

Mon Nov 12, 2007 at 03:29:19 PM PDT

From That Very Same Fortune Article Neatly Placed in the Very First Page of the Article.

"It's a luxury to be able to focus on what you are most passionate about all the time," he says. When asked to elaborate he adds, "Casting about for words to describe this with precision is less productive than just saying that what I'm doing feels like the right thing to do." So the answer is probably not, though like any good politician, he's left the door open.

He has left the door open not for 2012 but for now. So this movement continues. And more after the fold

Brazile: Al Gore Should Run... but It's Up to Him. My Thoughts.

Thu Oct 25, 2007 at 05:51:42 PM PDT

In a op-ed written yesterday, Donna Brazile (Al Gore's 2000 Campaign Manager) made it clear that she wants Al Gore to Run... But only if he wants to do it.

Like so many other Americans, I wish former Vice President Al Gore would declare his candidacy and let the chips fall where they may

There are more great tidbits

Why 'THEY' Hate Al Gore...

Wed Oct 17, 2007 at 10:32:05 AM PDT

I have been thinking about this for a couple of days now. Why are THEY (The Media, The Powers that Be, The Man, The DLC ... etc.) so anxious to close the door that Al Gore has purposefully left ajar?

I think I have found the answer and its not the closeness to deadlines and the 'inevitability' of a 'you-know-who', 'Why would he lower himself', It is none of that.

Gore: Looking for an Opportunity to Jump in the Race w/ Slight Update

Tue Oct 09, 2007 at 05:36:04 PM PDT

This according to an Independent article today:

Mr Gore has said nothing to indicate he might run, and his Nashville headquarters is silent on the question. But people close to the former vice-president are convinced that he is looking for an opportunity to jump in the race as a candidate who really is prepared to bring about urgent change in the face of the looming disaster posed by global warming.

This is great news!

Why We Fight: A Personal Diary.

I guess this is a personal Diary of why I am here, working on the things I am working on. Hopefully it is long enough to convey the way I feel.

Al Gore: To Run or Not to Run

Mon Sep 24, 2007 at 05:32:48 PM PDT

That is the question and this is not just a Shakespearean dilema - this is what is going through Al Gore's head right now, and if it's not then it should be.

Al Gore, you've had a great year. 'Inconvinient Truth' won 2 Oscars, you published 'The Assault on Reason' which became a Best Seller and has been called a "scathing indictment of the Bush Administration" it has also been called a "diagnosis of what ails American Democracy and what can be done to heal it" (mainly by me). Hosted Live Earth which was the most 'streamed' event in history. Won an Emmy for your channel Current. You have that whole Nobel thing in like 3 or 4 weeks. Al Gore in 3rd Place Nationally? W/ Another UPDATE

Fri Sep 14, 2007 at 11:16:24 AM PDT

It took some calculation but here it is:

AP

In contrast, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has a clear, across-the-board lead in the Democratic race over Sen. Barack Obama by 34 percent to 20 percent, roughly the margin she has enjoyed for months. Lagging behind was former Sen. John Edwards at 10 percent, while another 12 percent had no preference.

Clinton's lead stretched even more when Democrats supporting former Vice President Al Gore, who has not said he will run, are divided among their second choices. Then, she is ahead of Obama by 43 percent to 23 percent, with Edwards at 13 percent.

NOW that's LEADERSHIP! (A Rant in AAG Jr.)

Thu Sep 13, 2007 at 10:57:03 AM PDT

In lay terms, this is a reference to any person who, because of constant and severe domestic violence usually involving physical abuse by a partner, becomes depressed and unable to take any independent action that would allow him or her to escape the abuse. The condition explains why abused people often do not seek assistance from others, fight their abuser, or leave the abusive situation. Sufferers have low self-esteem, and often believe that the abuse is their fault.

I have been thinking about this for a while, Democrats have been in power for 8 months, Our Frontrunners aren't Leading. They are blowing with the wind. On Iraq some 60% of the population is ready for change, some are slowly changing their tune because 60% of the Population already knows Iraq was a mistake. And what is our Congress people preparing to do????(yes the extra question marks are neccessary) Are they going to look at the beast and fight... Not from the looks of it so far.

(This is an Al Gore Diary... I will get to him)

Al Gore prepares Solutions for Problems (NEW BOOK)

Thu Sep 06, 2007 at 05:31:37 PM PDT

Although the book's release has been posted on Amazon for a while under the name Solutions, It is now being called The Path to Survival, it is interesting to me that they would decide to announce it now, it comes up many times on the google news search.

Al Gore doesn't feel Right About making a Sherman Statement

Tue Sep 04, 2007 at 11:02:28 AM PDT

Al Gore hasn't made his mind up yet on making an endorsement for president either even though he has been contacted by the campaigns

02138 Magazine
Before we finish, Vice President Gore, I have to ask one more time: You’re completely ruling out a run for president?

I have not completely ruled out the possibility of reentering politics as a candidate at some point in the future. I doubt that will ever happen. But just as it doesn’t feel right to be a candidate at this point, it doesn’t feel right to make a so-called Sherman statement
